Job tasks and responsibilities

• Preparation of month end journals and reconciliations for management accounts. 

• Preparation of monthly financial reports.

• Ensuring Accounting standards and policies are adhered to IFRS.

• Preparation of financial data required for submission to statutory bodies. including ASIC/Companies of NZ, ABS/Stats NZ and ATO/IRD.

• Year end audit with external auditors.

• Payroll tax & workers compensation annual reconciliation.

• Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations each month including receivables, accruals, provisions, and inventory and oversee other staff to ensure balance sheet checklist updated.

• GST/BAS preparation and submission.

• Prepare tax compliance – local (Australia, NZ) including Income tax return and Fringe Benefit Tax.

• Prepare and issue all intercompany. 

• Assist in budget preparation and cashflow forecast.

• Provide financial analysis and input on new business initiatives and projects.

• Assisting in process improvement and systems enhancement initiatives.

Skills and experience 

• Bachelor’s  degree or above in Finance, CA or CPA qualification

• Overall understanding of Australia and New Zealand tax regulations.

• Advanced computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel.

• Knowledge and experience with SAP software and Pentana.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

• Being able to prioritize at peak times.
