This is a full-time position. Salary offer: $75,000 - $85,000 (depending on experience) p.a plus superannuation

Task & responsibilities
Your tasks include (but not limited to):
- Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults across a range of light vehicles, 4WDs and commercial fleet vehicles using diagnostic tools and workshop equipment
- Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems and other mechanical components, assessing parts for wear, damage or required replacement
- Repair or replace worn and defective components, reassemble mechanical systems, and refer to manufacturer specifications and service manuals where required
- Perform scheduled servicing, including logbook services, oil and filter changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups to ensure optimal vehicle performance and compliance with relevant standards
- Reassemble engines and vehicle components following repairs, ensuring all work meets workshop quality standards
- Test, adjust and fine-tune mechanical and electrical systems after repairs to ensure proper performance and reliability
- Utilise computer-based diagnostic equipment to identify faults and verify repairs
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, identify required repairs, and report findings clearly to support customer recommendations
- Assist in maintaining efficient workshop operations by completing work within required timeframes while upholding high standards of workmanship
- Adhere to all workplace health and safety requirements and maintain a clean and organised work environment
Qualification & experience
- Relevant qualification in Automotive Mechanical Technology or a related field at Certificate III level or higher
- Demonstrated experience of at least one year working on light vehicles and 4WDs, with exposure to commercial or fleet vehicles considered advantageous
- Strong diagnostic skills, including proficiency in using scan tools and computer-based diagnostic equipment
- Sound knowledge of engine systems, as well as transmissions, suspension, steering, and braking systems
- Ability to interpret and apply technical manuals, service schedules, and manufacturer specifications
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
- High level of attention to detail and well-developed problem-solving skills
- Current and valid driver licence
