We are seeking 2 positions for driven and well trained and qualified Motor Mechanic to join our team.
About the role:
As the mechanic, you will be required to perform general repairs and servicing of most makes and models of Australian, European, Japanese & Korean vehicles.
Applicants must have at least 1 year fulltime experience post qualification to be eligible for this position.
Duties and responsibilities
Diagnose and repair general mechanical faults
Quality control and inspection of vehicles
Test driving of vehicles
Ensure all vehicles meet the quality repair standards
Skills and experience
General mechanic repairs and servicing experience
Understanding of automotive workshop processes
Must have basic understanding of using a computer
Customer relations experience advantageous
European vehicle experience this is very advantageous
Engine rebuilding experience advantageous
Must have Australian working rights
Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use
Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job
Keep logs on work and issues
Maintain equipment and tools in good condition
Must have completed at least Cert III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or Diploma of Automotive

Task & responsibilities
- Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts
- Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts
- Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
- Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
- Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired
- Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
- Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers
- May inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or detail work required to achieve roadworthiness
- May respond to vehicle breakdown service calls
Qualification & experience
At least Certificate III in Light Vehicle
