Apprentice Golf Course Greenkeeper

 

Hartfield Country Club is an 18-hole championship course set in beautiful bushland in the Perth foothills. The course is located in the suburb of Forrestfield, just 20 minutes from Perth’s CBD. We are currently seeking applications for an Apprentice Greenkeeper to join our existing team. 

Reporting to the Course Superintendent, you will be involved in all aspects of turf maintenance required for the presentation of the golf course as well as conservation of the spectacular native flora found throughout the property.

An apprenticeship provides combined on-the-job training with structured learning, where apprentices will learn an array of specialist practical skills and knowledge relevant to Sports Turf Management.

Your turf management journey will begin learning the basics of workplace health and safety and applying it to the operation of equipment and machinery. You will progress your knowledge and training through weekly attendance at Tafe to gain Certificate III in Sports Turf Management. On completion of your 4-year apprenticeship, you will be ready to take on leadership roles within the Turf industry.

Applicants will need to demonstrate the following attributes:

Current driver’s license

Good communication skills

An interest in horticulture/turf management

Reliable and motivated with a strong work ethic

Work flexible hours including rostered weekend work

A willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
