Job Opportunity:  Fulltime Apprentice Greenkeeper - Immediate Start

Location: Malua Bay

Are you passionate about outdoor work and landscaping? Do you have an interest in maintaining pristine bowling greens and beautiful garden spaces? Club Malua is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Apprentice Greenkeeper to join our team with an immediate start!

From barefoot bowls to social or coaching sessions, Club Malua offers bowls 6 days a week on pristine bowling greens just a stone’s throw from Malua Bay Beach. Join our team and contribute to maintaining the club’s grounds and making these facilities shine.

Key Responsibilities:

Bowling Greens Maintenance:

• Maintain 2 greens to a high standard for play.
• Cut, roll, and mark out greens for days of play.
• Prepare greens for roll-ups for members and visitors.
• Ensure ditches, seats, and scoreboards are kept clean, neat, and tidy.
• Plan and execute renovations for the 2 greens yearly, including:
  • Top dressing
  • Aerating

Surrounds and Gardens:

• Keep banks, surrounds, and gardens neat and tidy, including:
• Whipper snipping, mowing, edging, and blowing.
• Ensure gardens are weed-free, mulched, and tidy.
• Conduct general maintenance around the club premises.

Chemicals and Fertilizing:

• Spray greens and surrounds for pests and disease according to WHS guidelines.
• Apply fertilizers to maintain healthy turf and plant life.
• Complete logbooks and spray records accurately.
• Wash and clean spray equipment.

About You:

• Passionate about outdoor work and landscaping.
• Eager to learn and develop skills in turf management and garden upkeep.
• Ability to work well in a team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

Qualifications (Preferred but not essential):

• No prior experience required – just a strong interest in greenkeeping and grounds maintenance.
• A driver’s license would be an advantage but not essential.
