Task & responsibilities

As an Automotive Electrician at Volgren, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of electrical safety and quality in our vehicles. Your key duties will include:

•Utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment to accurately identify and troubleshoot electrical and electronic malfunctions.

•Installing, maintaining, and repairing complex electrical wiring, electronic components, and assemblies.

•Integrating and connecting power-operated vehicle equipment and accessories to the vehicle’s power supply.

•Adjusting and calibrating engine control systems and ignition timing to optimize vehicle performance.

•Testing, repairing, and replacing defective alternators, generators, voltage regulators, starter motors, and ignition systems.

•Replacing faulty fuses, lamps, and switches to ensure all electrical systems are fully operational.


Qualification & experience

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong technical background and a commitment to quality workmanship. The ideal candidate will possess:

•Formal Education: An AQF Certificate III or IV in Automotive Electrical Technology (or equivalent NZQF Level 4 qualification).

•Proven Experience: A minimum of three years of hands-on experience as an Automotive Electrician. A combination of formal qualifications and extensive on-the-job experience will be highly regarded.

•Licensing: A current trade license or registration as required by state and territory regulations.

•Technical Skills: Proficiency in using a wide range of automotive diagnostic tools and a deep understanding of vehicle wiring diagrams and electronic systems.

•Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to efficiently diagnose and repair complex electrical issues in a timely manner.
