We are offering an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Bricklayer to join our construction team as a Leading Hand Bricklayer.

As a Leading Hand Bricklayer, you will:

• Lay bricks, blocks, and masonry materials to construct walls and structures
• Supervise and complete bricklaying projects to specified quality, timelines, budget and contract specifications
• Manage all site statutory and regulatory requirements including building and construction codes, industry standards, and health, safety, and environment regulation. 
• Supervise members of the bricklaying team, including providing on-the-job training and mentoring for apprentices   
• Co-ordinate and allocate site personnel, suppliers & materials for smooth project workflow.
• Prepare accurate material take offs
• Solve site issues as they arise
• Establish and manage positive working relationships with other members of the construction team
• Coordinate delivery/pick up project materials and consumables 
• Execute critical checks 
• Attend to maintenance issues

As the successful candidate you will have:

• 5+ years of trade experience as a bricklayer 
• Capacity to work independently and make sound construction decisions without constant supervision
• Experience with managing bricklaying teams and supervising and training apprentices 
• Strong commitment to high standards of quality and efficiency
• Capacity to work within tight time constraints
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent client and contractor management skill
• Excellent programming & planning skills
• Sound understanding of the relevant legislation, standards and codes and the ability to interpret building plans, engineers reports and specifications
• Effective communication and sound problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
