We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a first-year Bricklaying Apprentice to join our team. You’ll gain hands-on experience across Sydney, learning high-quality bricklaying and repair skills while working alongside experienced tradespeople in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

The Role

You will be required to attend TAFE to Complete the Certificate, whilst gaining valuable information and industry experience in a supportive environment.

Working under the direction of your Leading Hand/Site Foreman, you will be involved in:

  • Learning the foundations and content to develop skills including handle and prepare bricklaying/block laying materials, mixing cement and carting of bricks

  • Analysing plans and specifications to ensure you have the right materials for the project.

  • Measuring required dimensions & apply basic levelling procedures

  • Laying bricks in rows for the construction of walls and other structures.

  • Repairing and maintaining bricks and cement blocks.

  • Checking and measuring alignment of bricks.

  • Designing shapes and spreading mortar between joints.

  • Plan bricklaying daily activities on site in consultation with the foreman;Complete bricklaying work to the highest standard possible;

  • Gain a full understanding and working knowledge of the Company’s WHS and Environmental Policies and Procedures.   

  • Handle and prepare bricklaying materials, Use of bricklaying tools and equipment

  • Assist in setting up and packing up of projects / work sites

Skills Required

  • Attention to detail

  • Willingness to learn to read and comprehend plans 

  • Ability to multi-task

  • An eye for design

  • Team work orientation

  • A safety first approach  

  • Keen interest to learn trade with commitment to 4 year apprenticeship.

  • Physically fit and reliable

Essential Criteria

  • Good communication skills

  • You must have the right to live and work in Australia to apply for this job.

  • Certificate II in Construction Pathways (desirable)

  • Certificate I In Construction “White Card” (not essential)
