The Trustee for Gemcan Unit Trust T/A Gemcan Autobody (Gemcan Pty Ltd) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team in Horsham, Victoria. We are looking for a full-time qualified Motor Mechanic with at least 1 year prior experience.

Task & responsibilities

• Detecting and Diagnosis of automotive vehicles including mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts 
• Ability to figure out the fault, repair and provide the best possible solution 
• Mechanical repairs including periodic servicing, brakes repair, clutches and timing belts repair/replacement on different makes and models. 
• Inspect and run diagnostic tests to discover functional issues. Dismantle and replace or repair the defective part or equipment. 
• Change engine and transmission oils. 
• Conduct quality checks before returning vehicles. 
• Roadworthy Testing detail work required to achieve roadworthiness 
• Adhere and follow work safety guidelines, report any hazards, general housekeeping and workshop maintenance 
• Train other workshop staff 
• May require to respond vehicle breakdown service calls.

Qualification & experience

• Australian Qualifications minimum (Certificate III in Automotive) 
• Minimum 1 year prior experience in a similar role 
• Ability to work independently and unsupervised 
• High attention to detail
